The front nbuttons are not set horixontally but rather angle to the wearer's right (viewer's left). An unusual touch, mostly found only in double breasted coast where the widening pairs of buttons create a keystone effect.
From the diagonal wrinkles on the shoulders, I'm not sure if the front button placement was original or a later alteration.
